meet the mouse-tailed bat!

The enchanting bat arrived at our clinic with a broken wing. It received initial treatment and was immediately transferred to the Wildlife Hospital for further medical care.

🦇This bat gets its name from its long tail (even longer than its body), which has sensitive feeler hairs at its tip.
🦇 It prefers to spend as little time as possible away from its cave, only venturing out for short foraging trips and quickly returning home, as opposed to other bats.
🦇 There are two species in Israel, the greater mouse-tailed bat and the lesser mouse-tailed bat, and both are endangered due to habitat loss. So it's important to get to know their habitats and preserve them.
